Why do I need a wedding planner? Everything has already been planned for my wedding. Why do I still need a wedding day coordinator? How does Elysium set its fees? What if I don’t live in Vancouver and want to get married there?

Having someone who knows the industry and what it has to offer will be your most valuable resource. Having an experienced planner will help you consider all the details most people don’t even realize need to be attended to. So whether you are just starting to plan your wedding, or you are most of the way through, the expense of hiring a planner is, in hindsight, always a happy indulgence.
A wedding coordinator’s job is to take the stress away from you so that you can simply enjoy the day that you worked so hard to create. While friends and family may offer their assistance during the day, they are typically not aware of the overall logistics and flow of the event and thus may not be prepared to handle any unforeseen situations or circumstances. Having a wedding day coordinator allows your guests to celebrate your special day with you rather than worrying about it.
Each event we take on is unique in its own way, and thus all our event planning packages are customized and quoted on an individual basis. We offer a complimentary consultation to discuss your ideas and requirements, upon which we will prepare a proposal for our services. In setting our planning fees, there are a number of factors we generally take into consideration, including the size of the event, location (local or destination), whether the client lives locally or abroad, amount of time required on-site on the day of the event, and overall complexity and logistics of the event.

We will also help with travel and accommodation arrangements as well as activity ideas for a fun and flawless destination wedding for you and your guests. We will communicate with you every step of the way and can be reached via email, phone, skype or fax. Whatever it takes, we will make it happen!
What happens should my planner become ill or otherwise unable to complete the work?
At Elysium Events, there are always two planners / coordinators involved with any given event, so there is always more than one person who is completely aware of all the details surrounding the event. We have never faced a situation where both planners were unable to attend an event. In the case of one planner being unavailable, we have a team of professional event coordinators who stand behind Elysium Events, each available for support should the need arise.
Does Elysium accept referral fees or “kickbacks” from other vendors?
We do not receive or accept any commissions from vendors that we work with or recommend. In the event that a referral fee is offered, we decline the offer and kindly ask that the “kickback” be forwarded to our client in the form of a discount. We do not suggest the same vendors to every client – we refer vendors purely based on the client’s needs and requirements. We will listen closely to your ideas for your wedding day, and incorporate your style and budget concerns before offering suggestions for vendors.
How do you handle last minute challenges and emergencies?
An event involves many factors and individuals working together to produce a flawless outcome. We understand that things may happen, and if they do, we have the experience and tenacity to assess the situation and to find a solution quickly and seamlessly. You can rest assured knowing that contingency plans and back-ups will be anticipated and in place before the day of your event.
